Just a heads up, I admire how you want to fix run-on sentences and terrible grammar, however you should be careful you're not fully replacing them with sentence fragments. At the moment you're using quite a few periods when you could be using commas. -- Triacom (talk) 18:31, 13 May 2019 (UTC)

Ok I compared some of my edits to yours, and I respectfully disagree somewhat with your assertion. For example:

"Power packs for lasguns also greatly simplify ammunition logistics, even if Autoguns were better in all ways than a lasgun, the Administratum would still use the lasgun for the power pack."
This is clearly two sentences. It does not benefit from a comma after the word logistics. This makes the transition to a related, but different thought within the same sentence seem rather hard to track.
"In other words, even if an Imperial Guard unit was completely isolated they would still be able to recharge the power packs they have, given time and thus they would still be able to fight."

Ok, here's another already long sentence made even longer while combining too many ideas into one sentence. I don't see how this is optimal.

I'm not saying that my edits were optimal, but sentences like this: "Thus they would still be able to fight." Are just as bad. Either that should be attached to another sentence or it should be removed. Having a comma after the word logistics is better than a period because a period prevents the transition from being smooth, it makes it feel broken for no reason. If I were to optimize that sentence a little better here's what I think it would look like:
"Even if Autoguns were better in all ways than a lasgun, the Administratum would still use the lasgun because its power pack simplifies ammunition logistics."
That's just an example and I'm not trying to be an authority on the matter, that's why I sent this as a heads up because I had the feeling you'd be making more edits. One more tidbit while I'm here, two spaces after a period is incorrect. Figured I'd mention that since your edits talk about correct grammar and sentence structure. -- Triacom (talk) 19:42, 13 May 2019 (UTC)

I understand, and I appreciate the feedback. However, there is no one universal authority which mandates whether there must be either one or two periods after a sentence. I prefer using two spaces, because that is what I was taught, and that is what is recommended by APA format guidelines.

I was taught the same when I was a kid, however that only became prevalent because of things like typewriters needing the two spaces to space their words properly. Nowadays our programs already adjust for the need of two spaces automatically so your sentences are going to be spaced correctly by default, and incorrectly spaced by using two spaces. As far as the value of using two spaces go, if you try to look up which one is correct you'll find the reasons to use two spaces dwarfed by the reasons to use one space. In short, you're accounting for an issue that's already been solved. -- Triacom (talk) 22:06, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
