Big thanks for fixing out fluff and tactica for the eldar

Thank you for the Mathhammer :) - DarkIronCrown17

Thanks for fixing the formatting for the House Rules page, brother. -Brofisticus

Thanks for fixing the Return of The Primarchs page. For some retarded reason when I tried to update the links with the address to the 19th thread, the whole page suddenly blank out. I was horrified and tried to undo everything. And when I tried to update it again, it blanked out yet again. - Ben 22.05.2014 - 12:40 (East Europe, 1+)

Just want to say I really enjoy all of your homebrew work so far. What I have gotten to play with your TS codex has been really fun, and I really like what I am seeing of the tyranid rework. Most of what I have seen is more cohirent and balanced then most of GW's stuff. Just thought I should say good job...--Bobthe6th (talk) 18:21, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

  • Well, considering the recent level of GW "balancing" and "coherency" it's not that hard to do better - after all there is no way down from that. And thanks, inspiring feedback is what keeps me running with this homebrew stuff.

so, I don't see a way to PM people...[edit]

I've been thinking about trying to make a rework of the Tau as a fandex(make them less OP, actually care about assault, make their fluff more interesting).

You are a Tau player and a good brewer, would you be interested in helping me work on this? I would be an attempt at a full rebuild like Tyranids & TS.

Well, I don't like some things with Tau (rapetides, new seeker missile system, non-melee kroots, low-mobility mech style), but I'm generally OK with their current status, as I just can avoid taking OP/stupid units, especially since playing all-crysis Enclaves with Barracudas for anti-air and anti-horde is so much fun.
You're welcome to try, though, and I can add some interesting ideas and help with formating, but generally Tau don't need a massive rework like Nynds or say CSM, since you can field totally playable non-OP armies, and in friendly games (where homebrews are generally played) people wouldn't field overpowered tournament armies anyways. Mezmerro (talk) 18:14, 11 July 2014 (UTC)
The idea is to make all the unplayable units viable(unplayable covers both broken riptides and terrible vespids.) Make most of the suits walkers(still get mobility... but less impossible to kill.) Make kroots their own small alliable faction like the inquisition. Breaking the unit into several. Though I keep seeing things about walkers being bad... any reason besides random immobilizq r ion from difficult terain?--Bobthe6th (talk) 19:05, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
Suits as walkers (even Riptide) seems a terrible idea. In current edition walkers are generally left on the shelf, unless they can do something unique (like Necron tripods with their TL ability) or are dirt cheap for their firepower (like Warwalkers, Cans, Riflemen Dreads). Riptide is fine by its own, as it have pretty obvious weak spots enemy player may exploit, but its just too cheap, which makes it broken if spammed. Buffing Vespids and moving Kroot to their separate detachment would be something what I'd going to do if I try to rework Tau, and currently doing with my new CSM project and Cultists. Anyways, as I said, feel free to start the work. Mezmerro (talk) 20:44, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
Skeliton. Is now up on my user page.--Bobthe6th (talk) 13:19, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

Just so you know, is in alpha--Bobthe6th (talk) 06:55, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

Athaneans Paralyzing Titans[edit]

You know what, just.. Fucking no. I'm so fucking mad right now that my rage could ignite hydrogen fusion. I'm going to insist on this, you need to put in an FAQ for the codex that Paralyze doesn't work on Superheavies. Because to put it simply, Having a 90 point model permanently disable a TWO THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY(2750) POINT MODEL is the most BROKEN FUCKING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN ANY GAME. NO, this makes FISH OF FURY it's bitch. This is so broken that I can't even make an adequate euphemism for how vastly greater of a broken cheese this is COMPARED TO 7e ELDAR Evilexecutive (talk) 20:58, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

Yeah. like anyone ever plays Warlord titans. Besides:
  1. Said model must be within 24" of a titan and not instagibbed by it's D-blasts accross the board.
  2. Said model would probably be somewhere near 200-300 pts since you generally roll athaeneans on your big scary HQ sorc lord or DP, geared with WoPs and at least one relic which is like 1/3 of the most expensive superheavies that actually see plays on the boards and near the level of the Imperial/WraithKnights.
  3. Anyone bringing a cheese what is a titan or really any model above 750 pts. DESERVE to get this into his face. They got killed by Lukas before he get nerfed and the swallowed it.
  4. And as a final punch, per curent rules any squad of expendable mooks can stunlock a titan by charging it, as long as at least one model survive stomps by the end of the assault phase. And by the way stomps may fizzle and do nothing if you rolled one. Which is an obvious bullshit compared to the old rules where titans could not be locked by anything non-SH, but hey, it's official GW rules.
You know, this is entirely dodging the point of that what you've put in here is obscenely fucking broken like that. Nevermind that it also doesn't make a fucking nick of sense regardless. And here's why: Evilexecutive (talk) 22:20, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
  1. Superheavies like literally all of the baneblade variants aren't piloted by one person that you can just paralyze to stop the tank, they have crews of 30+ people
  2. Princeps don't even use their body to control titans, it's literally linked right into their brain
  3. There's a multitude of ways you can deep-strike said models right into the titan's face, for the express purpose of locking it down.
Pardon me for butting in, but I'd like to note that the Warlord can never be locked in combat under any circumstances. If I might make a suggestion, perhaps the offending power could only work for one turn against them?--Newerfag (talk) 22:29, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

Added a line: "although if the target unit numbers above 30 models or is a Super-Heavy Vehicle or Gargantuan Creature it become Warp Charge 6 and could be denied by a single success."

I'm thinking about making a Chaos codex that compiles all Chaos forces. I would like to hear the opinions of other players about the current state and you seem experienced. Do you have something like Skype where we could have a chat?

Codex Template[edit]

Hey Mez, I think I'm getting closed to finished with the tweaks to the Knights Inductor Codex and I was wondering how you made your codex for the Thousand Sons? I tried to make a pdf codex in Word but each time I tried to mess with the box sizes it all goes to crap and it was a pain putting it back together. If you don't want to share your template or how you made yours that's fine, I completely understand. But if you're willing, it'd be awesome to have a more workable template that I can translate the wiki-dex into much more easily Remoon101 (talk) 16:12, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

I made everything in a good old boring MS Word too (so I really do undertand your pain) and then printed it with PDF printer (I use PDF creator, but really there's a ton of them). Really recommend using Helvetica for a body of text and Caslon Antique for headers, mostly since GW and FW use those fonts and it brings more authentic looks, but Calibri and plain Arial are OK for body text too. I could give you an original .docx file in skype (don't want to put into free access), but don't expect it to keep the accurate formating, if you don't have the exact same fonts I have. Mezmerro (talk) 16:26, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
That's awesome, thanks for the tips. I was mostly getting tripped up at the actual army entry pages where you have all the options and all the like. The fluffier pages I was okay for the most part. Is it possible for you to e-mail it? If you can, my email is remoon101[at], just replace at with the at symbol. I don't think we have anyone for art but I'm sure evil or I could find someone who can do some decent sketches. Remoon101 (talk) 16:54, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
Sent you my codex and Caslon Antique font. Mezmerro (talk) 17:04, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
I have received the codex as well as the new font. Just one question, it seems like the codex is "off" a bit. Some of the details have slide onto another page, etc. I think it may be because I'm using an American 8.5x11" page layout setup. I don't know if I'll redesign it to fit that, but if I'm going to use the codex file, what size page is it? A4 or something like that? Thanks a lot again Remoon101 (talk) 17:24, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
Yes, it's A4.

+1 for that bit on the Lion being a miniature version of the Emperor, what with him being an "undeveloped" clone with respect to how the other brothers and their sons are more "specialised". I actually had come up with that theory too, though I wasn't really certain putting it up on this site was appropriate. Seeing as there's not a huge amount of evidence for it. -Dark Angel 2020 (talk) 11:58, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

I put it here precisely because it often appears on /tg/ primarch threads, since 1d4 at least supposed to be /tg/ wiki. It's not really that hard to get it, since BL authors almost push that idea to everyone willing to think a bit about what they're reading. Mezmerro (talk) 12:50, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

Pacts with Changelings?[edit]

I saw on your edit to the Demon: The Fallen page that it's possible for Demons to make pacts with Changelings. I'm not able to find anything that provides rules for this, do you happen to have a source? - Biggus Berrus (talk) 18:00, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

Hmmm I was sure it was in the Players guide but now I cannot find it. Probably should remove it. Mezmerro (talk) 14:52, 21 April 2018 (UTC)
