Category:Furry[edit]

Dude, what the hell? Do you need to talk to someone? --NotBrandX (talk) 03:57, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

- Perhaps I'm a little overzealous, but I do think putting things that are/use anthropomorphic characters into Category:Furry to populate it is a pretty obvious thing. Namely, things like D&D Catfolk or about half the races from /TG/ Unified Setting. Ruby Quest is mentioned as an example of good furry content in the category's description page so I think it transparently goes there. Nathan the Mouse (talk) 05:00, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Half of what you put into that category has nothing to do with furries. And quite frankly we shouldn't even have a furry category in the first place. At least check to see if the things you're putting in even have fur- why you put in Thri-kreen and Kobolds in that category is a mystery to me. --Newerfag (talk) 19:03, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
Kobolds, lizardfolk, and thri-kreen are anthropomorphic animals, at least as much as dragonborn are (even if they don't strictly have fur, that's not what most people are talking about when they call things furries). I can see good arguments for not having the category in the first place, but we do have it and so the things that it applies to should be in there.
I see where the problem is- your definition of furries is too broad. Read the Furry page and look closely at the "Things that are Not Furry" section, and in the future you should not assume that all anthropomorphic animals or humanoids with animal-like traits are furry. Had you gone onto /tg/ and suggested monstergirls were furries, they would have laughed you off the board.--Newerfag (talk) 20:01, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
I'm more worried that these labels are actually markerlights for a later attempt of a crusade. If you really want to be helpful, think about the neckbearded audience that will make use of your category. Who will come here looking to see what is identified as Furry? I believe this may invite flame wars, but I could be paranoid. (I wrote the Ironclaw article so it's not like I think furry stuff is inherently bad). -- NotBrandX (talk) 21:37, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
