Basic frameworks for the 8E Tactics pages for Orks, Tau, Necrons, and Genestealer Cults done. Currently hanging about those pages doing spelling, grammar and formatting while people with more practical experience playing those armies add data. Also being a rules lawyer trying to understand some of the stranger interactions of the new 8E rules.

- Because half of a fusion blaster's range, is 9, not 12. Which means if you want to deep strike into range to use its special ability to take the highest wound roll, you need to use a homing beacon. Hey mate, can you help out with something? The current pages Warhammer_40,000/Tactics and Warhammer_40,000/Tactics(8e) should be renamed Tactics(7e) and Tactics respectively. Not sure how to solve it, I'm new to wiki editing! Arahknxs (talk) 10:26, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
- Shuffling things around like this is probably going to be a pretty huge job, I'm not sure I really have the experience to pull it off successfully - those pages are interlinked into so many other things that the operation needs doing in exactly the right place or we'll have orphaned links and broken pages everywhere. Needs doing right at the top of the tree, wherever that is. Warhammer_40,000/Tactics is probably the right thing to move, as long as the Move option (top right in the dropdown next to the read/edit etc. buttons) is used to do it properly instead of cutting and pasting text, while also selecting the options to drag all the sub-pages along with it. The biggest issue might be redirects, as moving Tactics to Tactics(7E) will leave a redirect page behind to point at the new location - and that's where you want the 8E page to go.
- Personally I'm tempted to just move Tactics -> Tactics(7E) and leave Tactics(8E) where it is, and use the base Tactics page as a simple redirect that points to the current edition (and then editing it directly to point at Tactics(8E) instead of Tactics(7E)). Then that redirect at Warhammer_40,000/Tactics can be the target for all incoming links, and when there's a 9th edition the redirect can just be edited again to point everything at Tactics(9E) instead of Tactics(8E).--PercussiveMaintenance (talk) 12:02, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
