Touhou Power Cards/Condition Cards[edit]

Why did you replace the moe/kawaii versions with ecchi versions?

--NotBrandX 21:54, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Many conditions have received errata by WOTC, so i felt the urge to update the cards. But i also uploaded the result, so everyone else here could profit from my work (even teh hators).
I don't have the original FLA files for theses conditions, so i created new ones. As there are millions of touhou pictures on danbooru *drool*... i can't find the original pix for all conditions (but believe me that i tried, as you can see with Slowed, Prone or Petrified). So i used new images which fit the condition, but you are right... they are ecchi, while the original versions were not.
I created 2 versions of File:THC Stunned.jpg, so what's ecchi about File:THC Stunned SFW.jpg...? But it's true that both Unconscious pix and Weakened are highly suggestive.
Should i create new versions of Unconcious and Weakened which are more... moe/kawaii? Do you have access to the original FLA files ore images for the pix you mentioned? This would make it much easier for me, but i also don't mind using new ones.. Zarathustra01 14:50, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
THC Stunned.jpg

I am the LAST person to discourage making new/original content. And I didn't say anything about File:THC Stunned SFW.jpg. I'm thinking more about what happens when I'm doing a game demo in an (American) Friendly Local Gaming Store, and I slap on the table a picture of a half-undressed girl tied up with ropes, her legs forced open with her crotch in the center foreground. I mean, you and I know this is just harmless ecchi stuff (or as they say in England, "slap-and-tickle"), but I just know I'll get less flak for the washbasin-dropping art art in the original File:THC_Stunned.jpg. Until I can find the original *.fla Flash Art object files, I guess we'll have to suck it up. --NotBrandX 15:04, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

Oh i see, it's true that some US people are liek THE RAGE when X rated stuff is involved... But you see, i prefer such pictures, so you'll find lots of X rated stuff on cards from me. I also don't care about negative responses (at least the people i play with don't mind either, here in germany).
But you are lucky, as i found teh original pic for stunned, so i replaced File:THC Stunned SFW.jpg with it. After all, noone :forces you to use the X rated cards, if SFW versions are available, like in this case. Also added a SFW Version for Weakened: File:THC Weakened SFW.jpg
What do you think of File:THC Unconscious 2.jpg? Is there still too much skin for a "non-X rated" pic?
Or is your point, that i should avoid X rates on 1d4chan in general...? Zarathustra01 13:05, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

No no no, dude. Dude. I go searching for Nerdmonette content, and my Cultist folder could get me fired. I'm not being a prude about porn; I'm being a prude about data integrity. What raised the flag was when you were replacing a binary file with a different binary file that had significant content changes... usually someone would upload a new file, then change the link in the article to point to the new file. At first I thought it was because "hey, tits make everything better," and I'm like "no, sometimes tits make things worse." You explained that it was because the rules described on the cards were patched, and since you didn't have the original art you made new content (yay new content!). So I understand why you replaced the files: the old cards have obsolete text on them.
Like I said above, "Until I can find the original *.fla Flash Art object files, I guess we'll have to suck it up." That's not me complaining, that's me describing the plan: sucking it up, buying a helmet, and actually taking responsibility for making sure there's no throbbing penises on the cards instead of just trusting the editors of something with *chan in the name. --NotBrandX 20:47, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

Hey there, I was the one who made the .fla files after some tracing of the original cards made in photoshop. The links for the photoshop files were dead or something, so that's why. Hope they worked out well for you! --Zecro 20:14, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

The FLA Template is perfect, thanks for asking. It's just so much easier to edit the FLA files with adobe flash, than the PSD files with GIMP. Do you know of any (free) fla editor, besides adobe flash? Zarathustra01 11:29, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Kudos[edit]

You're still going with the Touhou Power Cards project? Damn, man. Good on you. --NotBrandX 17:19, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Thank you. I found it by accident some time ago, and i thought it was too cool to die. I even use some of the cards here myself. Errata is somewhat annoying, but i can manage. Just the sheer amount of available Powers makes it impossible for one person, to create cards for everything. So i'm hoping that other poeple might stuble opun this project and provide some help. Tools[edit]

Anybody hooked you up with http://magicseteditor.sourceforge.net/ yet? If we could just get a D&D powers template written, it could speed up your project. I'm using it for making a themed version of Nanofictionary right now. --NotBrandX 17:50, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

That's new to me, but it could proof helpful in the future. A few days ago i finished the new essentials wizard powers, but i didn't have the time yet, to upload them. But once i start new cards (i'm considering paladin or cleric), i might try this out.
Just tried to register on that site, but the register process seems to be bugged, so i'll try again in a few days. Zarathustra01 10:13, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
